Terms & Conditions
Guests
Guests of residents may not stay overnight at Vincent House unless accommodation is booked in the usual way. Rooms booked by residents for their guests and not occupied must be paid for. Residents are asked to see that their guests leave the House by midnight. All guests should present themselves at Reception before going on to the floors or the Lounge or Dining Room. No visitors will be admitted between 12 midnight and 6.00am unless previously advised to Reception.
Baggage Room
Trunks and heavy suitcases are not allowed to be stored in the bedrooms. A numbered rack in the baggage room is allocated to each resident and access can be obtained at any time. All baggage must be clearly marked with the owner's name and room number. No baggage can be stored after the departure of the resident.
Furniture
Residents may not provide their own furniture as rooms are fully furnished.
Room Servicing
Rooms are serviced daily. Residents may decline this service by placing a 'Please do not service' sign on the bedroom door for a maximum of six continuous days, after which the room must be accessed to be service by housekeeping.
Breakage and damage
Residents are liable for any breakages to Vincent House property.
Parking
Cars or motor cycles are NOT allowed to be parked in the drive or rear yard. Residents can apply for residents parking permits from the local authority - please ask for information at Reception.
Radios and Televisions
Vincent House does not provide these. Residents may use their own providing there is no annoyance to caused to other residents. It is a legal requirement to obtain a television licence.
Personal Electrical Appliances
An electrical kettle is provided in each room, but no other appliance for cooking or heating are allowed. Residents' personal equipment must be correctly installed/connected and overload of the electrical circuits avoided.
Health, Safety & Medical Care
The Association has a legal duty to safeguard the health and safety of its staff when working. Residents' rooms must be safely accessible for staff to do their work in the opinion of the manager. Residents must be registered with a local doctor and are asked to leave details with Reception.
Noise
The Management reserves the right to require residents' visitors to leave residents' rooms if a noise nuisance is being caused.
Illegal Substances
Anyone found in possession of, dealing in or using illegal substances (including Class A and Class B drugs) anywhere on the premises will be deemed to have contravened the conditions of residence. As a result they will have their residency terminated and will be asked to leave Vincent House with immediate effect.
Applications
All residents must complete an application form prior to acceptance for residency and references may be required. No resident may remain at Vincent House after reaching the age of 70 years, except in very exceptional cases and with the prior agreement of the Committee of Management and subject to any conditions that the Committee may choose to impose.
Resident Accounts
A deposit of £250.00 must be paid on acceptance of application, which will be held until the resident leaves. Accounts are prepared on Friday mornings and must be settled weekly. Payments in advance may be made and a statement will be rendered to the resident each week. Residents going away for a short period are requested to notify Reception of their dates of departure and return. Accounts must be settled before departure to cover the period of absence. No allowance can be made for temporary absence.
Notice Of Departure
At least two weeks' notice must be given in writing to the General Manager on a Friday morning before 12 noon by residents wishing to terminate their residency. This notice will thus terminate on a Friday morning a fortnight later. Residents must vacate their room by 10.30am on the day of departure, otherwise an extra day's rent will be payable.
The General Manager, on behalf of the Association, reserves the right to terminate the residency of any resident or visitor by giving 7 days notice to that effect and shall not be required to give any reason for such notice.
Temporary Visitors
Temporary visitors are asked to settle their accounts weekly. On their day of departure the room must be vacated and the bill settled by 10.30am.
Legal Liability
The Management is not under any liability in respect of property belonging to residents which, from any cause whatsoever, may be damaged, lost or stolen. Valuables may be handed to Reception for safekeeping, but no responsibility can be accepted for any loss, damaged or destruction whilst in the Association's possession.
