September is usually a busy month as people return from their summer vacations. The changes in London are easy to spot as the trees that line many streets and adorn many gardens start to turn colour and there are more people out and about and in the shops. The trend builds throughout the Autumn with events such as Halloween, Guy Fawkes Night and, of course, the festive season adding to the appeal.
It is also a very busy time at Vincent House as we welcome lots of new residents arriving to stay for a few weeks or months as well as visitors spending a short time in London to enjoy the capital’s many attractions.
It is a particularly lovely time to enjoy the nearby parks which include Holland Park and Kensington Gardens where you can visit the royal Kensington Palace and see the exhibition of Diana: Her Fashion Story https://www.hrp.org.uk/kensington-palace.
The beautiful Vincent House garden is one of our main attractions and we can see how Autumn is already having its effect in the changing colours and hues. Many of the shrubs and plants are at their best at this time of year and, as you can see above, our apple tree is laden with fruit and the hydrangea blooms are displaying the mellow shades of the season.
