Communal facilities include our recently redecorated lounge where residents can relax with friends, sit quietly, play the piano (only at times agreed with the management) or enjoy a selection of alcoholic and soft drinks from the stylish bar which opens from 6.30pm-9.30pm most evenings. A striking feature in the lounge is our professional quality snooker table (can be used by residents at any time) and a regular competition between residents and the management and staff of Vincent House is a popular event. Other social activities include a summer party in the garden (weather permitting!) and a Christmas dinner with entertainment. Adjacent to the lounge is a small reading room with a wide variety of books available to borrow. Our garden is surprisingly large with a patio full of pretty potted plant opening onto a lawned area surrounded by mature trees, shrubs and flowering plants which make this a delightful retreat during the spring and summer. There is even a pond, but sadly a local heron has claimed all the fish! Our comfortable garden furniture allows residents to make use of the patio and the main garden throughout the year. Not so relaxing, but certainly very practical, is our small launderette for residents' use offering washing and drying facilities at a competitive rate which has proved very popular since its introduction in 2004.
