MOVING TO LONDON?

Notting Hill Gate Tube Sign

I count my lucky stars that I found out about Vincent House and I’m so grateful my friend, who was already living here, told me about it.  Finding good value accommodation in London is really challenging for anyone, but even more when arriving here for the first time whether coming from elsewhere in the UK or from overseas.

Before knowing about Vincent House I considered studio flats, flat shares and other short term accommodation options.  I was quite worried about finding anything suitable having read so much in the press about the housing crisis in London.  Hearing about Vincent House from someone who already lived here was fantastic. It made what could have been a difficult introduction to London a much easier ride.

I have to admit the location pretty much sold it to me before I even saw the distinctive and welcoming building of Vincent House.  Notting Hill is such a central, trendy location and being only 5 minutes from the tube is a bonus.  It was also familiar as I am a big fan of the film.  A residence wasn’t something I was looking for, but it’s been a great choice for me.  The simplicity of the lifestyle means I’ve been able to enjoy all that London has to offer so much more quickly.

I’d love to know how other people moving to London found a place to live when they first arrived.  Who did you ask and where did you search for accommodation?  I know many fellow residents were recommended to Vincent House by a relative or friend who’s stayed in the past – and, because it’s such a different type of place and a lifestyle you might not think of, how would you find out about it if you didn’t know it exists!

It would be great to hear how you discovered Vincent House.
